Real transformation, less disruption

A dated kitchen is not necessarily a bad kitchen.

When the layout works and the cabinets remain sound, replacement can be an expensive way of solving a colour problem.

Professional kitchen spraying retains the foundations you already have while changing the visible finish throughout the room. It can also include repairs, removal of failing vinyl, new handles and the refinishing of fixed panels, plinths, cornices and islands.

  • Keep the storage and layout you already know works
  • Avoid unnecessary plumbing, electrical and flooring disruption
  • Choose from an extensive professional colour range
  • Repair damaged MDF, unstable coatings and failing vinyl where suitable
  • Create a complete transformation rather than a doors-only colour change

Fast initial assessment

Get an honest kitchen respray price from photographs.

Send enough information for us to understand the kitchen, likely preparation and approximate scale. No drawn-out form and no pushy sales routine.

Send these five things

  1. Three to six photographs of the whole kitchen
  2. Close-ups of peeling vinyl, damage or old coatings
  3. Your postcode
  4. An approximate number of doors and drawers
  5. Your preferred colour or inspiration image, when known

Clear advice first. We will explain likely suitability, preparation and an initial price range.

The Spray Masters process

The final colour is only as good as the work underneath it.

Kitchen spraying is a coating process, not a quick decorating job. Preparation, primer selection, application and curing all matter.

1

Photo assessment

We assess size, material, visible damage and likely preparation before giving initial guidance.

2

Sample doors

Where agreed, two or three doors are collected first so you can see colour, sheen and grain at home.

3

Survey and schedule

Repairs, handle changes, colour and dates for collection, onsite work and refitting are confirmed.

4

Careful dismantling

Doors, drawers and hardware are labelled before removal. Cupboards do not normally need emptying.

5

Onsite protection

Worktops, appliances, floors, walls and cabinet openings are protected before fixed sections are prepared.

6

Workshop preparation

Components are cleaned, repaired, sanded and primed at our Derby HQ using the correct system for the substrate.

7

Spray and cure

Finishing coats are applied under controlled conditions before force-curing to improve early hardness.

8

Refit and handover

Doors and drawers are returned, aligned and inspected, followed by written aftercare guidance.

Technical authority

Different kitchen surfaces require different preparation.

One universal primer is not a professional specification. The material and existing finish must be identified first.

Solid timber and veneer

Knots, oils and resins may require blocker or isolating primers. Natural grain generally remains visible unless grain filling is separately specified.

MDF and damaged edges

Exposed or water-affected MDF may require rebuilding, high-build priming and additional sanding. Severely damaged items may need replacement.

High-gloss acrylic and laminate

Polish, grease and contamination must be removed before controlled abrasion and a suitable adhesion-promoting primer are used.

Failing vinyl-wrapped doors

Unstable vinyl should not be hidden beneath paint. Where suitable, it is removed and the underlying MDF is repaired before spraying.

Previously painted kitchens

A new coating cannot compensate for a weak layer beneath it. Existing coatings are assessed and may require stripping.

Melamine and factory finishes

Suitable surfaces can often be refinished after decontamination, mechanical preparation and substrate-specific adhesion treatment.

Profiles and detail retained

The goal is not to hide the kitchen. It is to refine it.

Detailed mouldings, cabinet profiles and original character can remain while the colour and overall atmosphere change completely. The visible grain and profile depend on the original material and the agreed preparation specification.

Kitchen spraying questions

Straight answers before you book.

How much does kitchen spraying cost in Derby?

Most professional kitchen transformations fall between approximately Β£1,500 and Β£7,000. Size, material, condition, repairs, vinyl removal, islands and the surfaces included all affect the final quotation.

How long does a kitchen respray take?

Most complete projects take approximately five to seven working days. Onsite spraying normally takes one to two days, while doors and drawer fronts are prepared and finished at the Derby workshop.

Do I need to empty all my cupboards?

No. Cupboards do not normally need to be emptied. Openings and surrounding areas are carefully protected, although exposed worktop items and fragile objects should be moved.

Can vinyl-wrapped kitchen doors be sprayed?

Failing vinyl should not simply be painted over. Where suitable, the vinyl is removed, adhesive is cleaned away and the underlying MDF is repaired and stabilised before spraying.

Can high-gloss or acrylic kitchens be sprayed?

Yes, many gloss and acrylic kitchens can be refinished successfully. They require thorough decontamination, controlled abrasion and the correct adhesion-promoting primer.

Can solid oak kitchens be sprayed?

Yes. The natural grain will generally remain visible. Knots and resin-prone areas may require an isolating primer, while grain filling is a separate specification where a smoother appearance is required.

Can you repair water-damaged MDF?

Minor and moderate damage can often be stabilised and rebuilt. Severely swollen or structurally weak pieces may require replacement.

Can you change the kitchen handles?

Yes. Existing holes can often be filled and new positions drilled where the door construction allows. Handle changes should be agreed before preparation begins.

How long does the finish take to cure?

The coating continues developing chemical and mechanical resistance after refitting. Full resistance normally develops over approximately 21 to 28 days.

What are the payment terms?

Standard residential bookings normally require a 30% non-refundable deposit to secure materials and the production slot, with the remaining 70% due on completion. Full booking terms are supplied before work is confirmed.
