Moving the caravan changes the order of everything.
A static caravan arriving from another site is often called a bring-on. Not every park accepts one, and those that do may set rules around age, condition, colour, contractors and where work can happen.
That is why we start with the receiving park—not a paint chart. Before coating is specified, we want the unit details, clear condition photographs, the current site, the destination park, the approved colour and the expected transport or siting date.
Done in the right sequence, the respray can solve several pressures at once: present the unit cleanly for approval, replace a dated exterior colour, protect a sound surface and avoid trying to organise major cosmetic work after decking, skirting and services are back in place.

The cleanest route is a six-stage plan with responsibilities and dates agreed early. We can coat before transport, after siting or at our Derby workshop when the unit and project are suitable.
Park approval first
Confirm the park accepts outside units and ask for its age, condition, colour, contractor, access and working-hour requirements in writing.

Choose the coating window
Before transport can mean clearer access. After siting can reduce transport-mark risk. We assess which sequence suits the actual unit and park.
Separate enabling works
Haulage, utility disconnection, decking, steps, skirting and structural repairs are identified so the coating scope is not blocked on the day.
Prepare and protect
Clean, decontaminate, abrade, remove failing material, make agreed cosmetic repairs, mask precisely, prime as specified and spray controlled coats.
Inspect and hand over
We check finish and cure conditions, document the completed scope and issue the guarantee that applies to the specified work.

These are the details that turn a vague enquiry into a workable coating plan.
Green by colour. Greener by keeping what is sound.
Muted greens work especially well around woodland, landscaped parks and rural pitches. The right shade can make a dated unit feel settled into its surroundings rather than visually dropped onto them.
Think soft sage, lichen, olive, moss and deeper fir tones. We can work from a park-approved reference or recognised colour system, then confirm the finish on a physical sample because screens and photographs shift colour.

There is also a practical sustainability case for refurbishment: retaining serviceable cladding, doors and fitted furniture can avoid unnecessary replacement materials and waste. We describe that honestly as refurbishment and asset-life extension—not as a blanket claim that every coating or project is “eco-friendly”.
A 25-year guarantee must be a specification—not a slogan.
Where a unit, substrate and environment qualify, SprayMasters can specify an exterior coating system with a written guarantee of up to 25 years. Not every caravan or every surface will qualify.
The guarantee term is agreed after inspection and recorded against the defined surfaces and system. It is not a promise against structural movement, leaks, impact, transport damage, seal or joint failure, hidden corrosion, substrate delamination, unauthorised repairs or neglected maintenance.

“Caravan spraying” covers very different surfaces and use cases. We keep them separate so you get the right preparation, coating and expectations.
Exterior colour and protection
For sound aluminium, coated steel, uPVC, GRP and compatible previously coated surfaces, subject to survey. We can include walls, compatible trims, window frames, doors and skirting where they form part of the written scope.
- Best for: new-pitch colour compliance, tired factory finishes, chalking, fading and a complete style change.
- Preparation: substrate-specific cleaning, mechanical key, local defect treatment and compatible primer—not one universal process.
- Not concealed: leaks, loose joints, deep corrosion, rotten backing, unstable films or structural panel failure.
Interior-led transformations
Most of our motorhome and touring-caravan work is inside: fitted cabinet doors, drawer fronts, carcass faces, wardrobes, tables and compatible trims. It changes the entire feel without the disruption of removing every fitted unit.
- Common finishes: dated wood effects, yellowed creams, dark veneers and failing vinyl-faced cabinet doors.
- Common substrates: lightweight laminated board, MDF, plywood, solid timber and selected plastics—each tested before specification.
- Practical route: removable parts can be processed in controlled workshop conditions while fixed elements are prepared and coated in situ where suitable.
Residential units need a building-style survey
“Mobile home” and “park home” are often used loosely. A larger residential unit with a textured exterior, movement cracks or recurring water ingress is not automatically the same coating job as a metal-skinned holiday caravan.
- We establish: the wall finish, movement, cracking, previous coating, sealants, exposure and park access.
- We specify: only after confirming the coating is compatible with the actual exterior system.
- We refer: structural, roofing, damp or panel faults for proper repair before decorative protection.
Peeling is a symptom. The diagnosis decides the fix.
Owners commonly mean one of two things by a “failing caravan door”: the entrance door is weathered or mechanically faulty, or the vinyl film on an interior cupboard door is lifting. They should not receive the same answer.
Good candidate to respray
Sound entrance-door substrate with fading or a stable old finish; or sound cabinet doors where failed film can be fully removed and the base can be prepared.
Repair before spraying
Localised edge damage, minor surface defects, failed sealant around a frame or hardware adjustment—once the underlying repair is agreed and completed.
Replace, don’t disguise
Warping, waterlogged or swollen cores, widespread delamination, cracked structural panels, persistent ingress, failed locks or frames that cannot close safely.
Spray, re-clad or replace?
Spraying is powerful when the existing asset is fundamentally sound. It is not automatically the right answer for every unit.

Should the static caravan be sprayed before or after it moves?
Either can work. Before transport may give better all-round access and avoids working around newly fitted decking or skirting. After siting reduces the chance of haulage marks after the finish is applied. The right choice depends on the unit, the haulier, safe access, the receiving park’s rules, weather and the coating’s required cure time.
Do I need permission from the holiday park?
Usually, yes. Ask the receiving park whether it accepts bring-on caravans and what it requires for age, condition, exterior colour, contractor documents, spray containment, access and working hours. Get the decision in writing before choosing a colour or booking work.
Is every caravan covered by a 25-year guarantee?
No. An up to 25-year written guarantee is available only for qualifying exterior coating specifications. The unit, substrate, existing finish, condition, environment, access, preparation and maintenance requirements all affect eligibility and duration. Your quotation states the exact cover; interior work has its own project-specific terms.
Can you spray my static caravan green?
Yes, where the substrate and park rules allow it. We can develop sage, olive, moss, fir and other natural colour directions, or work to the park’s named colour or code. Always approve a physical sample because colour on a phone screen is not reliable.
Will an exterior coating stop damp or leaks?
Do not treat a cosmetic coating as a cure for damp. Failed roof details, joints, seals, gutters, windows, panel damage and hidden moisture need to be diagnosed and repaired first. The coating then protects the sound, properly prepared surfaces included in the specification.
Can you repair peeling caravan cupboard doors?
Often, if the door beneath is sound. Failed vinyl should not simply be painted over: it needs to be removed where suitable, the substrate assessed and edges repaired before a compatible system is applied. Swollen, water-damaged or unstable doors may need replacing.
What parts of a motorhome interior can be resprayed?
Common scopes include cabinet doors, drawer fronts, wardrobe doors, fixed carcass faces, tables and compatible trims. Appliances, soft furnishings, worktops, floors and safety labels are excluded unless specifically assessed and included. We test the actual substrate and old finish before confirming the method.
Do you spray on the park or at your Derby workshop?
Both routes can be considered. On-site work depends on park permission, safe access, containment, neighbouring units and suitable conditions. Workshop work can offer stronger control for suitable units or removable components. We recommend the route after reviewing the project.
What should I send for a quote?
Send the make, model, year, approximate dimensions, current and destination locations, scope, preferred colour, four full elevations and close-ups of corrosion, peeling, dents, seals, doors and access restrictions. Include the pitch or transport date and any written park requirements.
Do you move caravans or reconnect utilities?
Those items are separate from the coating scope unless expressly agreed in writing. Static-caravan transport should be handled by a suitable specialist, and disconnection or reconnection of gas, electricity, water and drainage must be organised with the park and appropriately qualified trades.
